Almost every Sunday , I go to buy fish from 4 Bunglow Fish Market . On my , there is a small stall on road side that sells News papers and Magazines . Mostly I stop there and buy ” The Speaking Tree ” which comes out on every Sunday .
The cost is Rs. 3 . This has been going on for a few months . Last Sunday , I stopped my car and rolled down the Window and asked the owner to give me a copy of the same . He came with the Paper at the window and when I extended my hand to get the paper , he said in a stern voice ” Pehle Paise Do”.
At first , I got very much offended and insulted as I had been coming there for quite sometime and he can not trust me with 3 Rs ?? I had the change in my hand – I gave him the coins , he checked those first and then gave me the paper .
This small incident made me thought about human nature and about a person’s insecurity in trusting others – specially strangers – whether for a few Rupees or for any other kind of work . It all varies from person to person on how much you can trust – in terms of getting a job done or to keep a promise or for any other matter
